I think boredom probably had different connotations as well. Malaise became boredom & vice versa.
In a conversation where I spilt some guts on my little brother's current emotional goings-on, my friend had told me that his therapist actually informed that the internet was the heaviest contributor in our generation's depression/despondence. A failure to grasp how one communicates with others in a non-technological basis. Piqued my interest; seems to be some sense there.

    IN OTHER NEWS.

Everytime I log on I have to click something whilst"unlogged in" to tell me that I was actually already logged in before I hit the new posts button. This isn't actually a problem. I'm probably just too fucking lazy

yes i agree about the internet contributing to people's boredom. also has contributed to people expecting to get everything instantly. i dont fuck around with facebook but the fact that youtube has made everything you could possibly ever want to see (minus x rated stuff) at your fingertips is pretty crazy. and that's only been in the last, like, five years. i still appreciate it keeping me company though when i have no ther choice but to be isolated from life. would much rahter sit somewhere and converse with real life people.

re-thinking leffer's post - before communication was usually with real people, like going out to shows, pubs, etc or long distance it was letters, either a few lines & art, zines or tapes..even records maybe (or satan forbid an actual phone conversation).....nowadays it seems texting or email & downloading a mp3 and still avoiding phone convo's (i have issues with talking to people on devices, dunno why) - yet the texts, from my point of view can either be very short, brief, similar in our depression about how shit our lives are, or its innuendo heavy texts or staright out sexting...which i find a bit vacuous now....tho it was exciting to begin with.
ha ha ha ha porn on the net, yeah i agree with points you's guys make. i also prefer imagination as it means more & the climax is more holistic & genuine- whereas getting off to porn, means it becomes an exercise, tru i'm turned on, but when i cum...the porn carries on - probably eternally! so i end up fapping more & more & more...yet still without that emotional feeling - it becomes more technical.....anyway, with that - i'm probably off to kill some evil cowboys on the ps3
