yeah i m ok.shit happens here every day,new austerity measures every 2-3 months, more cut of wages and pensions, new taxes, new taxes and more taxes, general strikes and demonstrations every week, employees in public services squat the public buildings and social chaos everywhere. In 19-20 October one more general strike took place,700.000 people protested in Athens, riots broke again up,the down town was in flames once again and one member of communist party died (by heart attack during the conflict with the anarchist bloc).tomorrow is the d-day for the Greek debt in Brussels,EU governments,IMF and banks are supposed to decide the erase of a percentage of greek debt (40-60%) which is 360 billions but don't get fooled:this 60% is only 50-70 billions and not 180,this means more pain, more austerity and dark future since the crisis sieges Italy and Spain.

A conservative would say it is not the crisis of capitalism since capitalism in the sense of an unhampered market free of government intervention isn't being practiced, but that it is a crisis of the European welfare state. That the money needed to run the state is unmatched by the amount able to be taken while remaining a competitive market for foreign investment. As in a company lookingto build a factory in today's global economy where money can be moved will do so in a country that gives it the best deal as far as low taxes and cheap labor. Countries like India and China and hundred other poor nations.

So does socialism, so does communism. And probably so does anarchism although we never saw a long lasting test of it done. Capitalism with progressive taxes and some good social programs is pretty damn cool though.

What is a "progressive tax"? A nice tax that votes for the Democrats?
"Good social programs" are used to keep the people quiet and to keep their desire for rebellion low. Social measures have always been taken to avoid wider, more radical protests, to cool people down so to speak. But if you think it's pretty damn cool to be a wage slave, well, good for you.
